| Differences between Basic and Premium plans: (1) Basic includes a deductible only for outpatient treatments. Basic (2) Health screenings (dental check-ups, cancer screenings, gynecological exams, prenatal care) and recovery costs excluded. Premium has no deductible and is free from the restrictions included in the Basic version. | ||||||
| The deductible applies only to outpatient treatments and is limited to a maximum of €200 per insurance year – even if you require treatment multiple times for different reasons. This means you only cover the first €200 of outpatient treatment costs within an insurance year. There is no deductible for inpatient treatments or in the Premium plan in general. | ||||||
| Age limits and installments: The rate for the policy is determined by your age at the start of the initial policy or the renewal (follow-up contract). You can choose one of the available installment options during booking – for example, monthly payments. If you insure a period of more than 12 months at the 1–60 month rate and terminate your trip after 12 months or less, you will be downgraded to the lower 1–12 month rate and receive a refund for the difference. | ||||||
| Connecting flights via the USA, Canada, Mexico: (1) In the plan without these countries, connecting flights (transit) for the duration of the transit there are co-insured for any insurance period. (2) If you are insured for at least 7 months, a one-time stay of a maximum of 14 days in one of these countries is co-insured under the plan without these countries. | ||||||
| Additional coverage for stays in the USA, Canada, Mexico: You can book the plan option excluding these countries if you do not plan to visit them at the start of your trip. If you decide to travel to one or more of these countries during your journey, we can provide additional coverage for your stay there through a second policy including these countries. The supplementary rate will only be charged for the actual duration of your stay in the aforementioned countries. | ||||||
| Renewals (Follow-up Policies): You should avoid renewals (follow-up policies) whenever possible, as they carry significant disadvantages: (1) renewals require approval and may be declined, (2) you will be required to answer health-related questions, (3) pre-existing conditions (claims that have already occurred) will no longer be covered upon the start of the renewal policy, and (4) renewals are issued at the age level reached by that time. If you initially booked the 1–12 month rate and your total insured period increases to 13 months or more due to a renewal, the 1–60 month rate will be applied retroactively to the first 12 months. This means you will have to pay the difference between the previous rate (1–12 months) and the 1–60 month rate. If you think it is possible that you will travel for more than 12 months, we recommend booking for the full 60 months from the start with monthly installments. In the event of an early return, we will terminate your policy prematurely. Should your early return reduce your total insured period to 12 months or less, you will be downgraded to the lower 1–12 month rate and receive a refund for the difference. | ||||||
